As part of the Al-Iman Amānah initiative, this session invites participants to move beyond basic understanding and engage more critically with the role of Zakah as a system of purification, social justice, and economic balance.

Led by Dr. Osman Umarji, the session will examine how Zakah functions not only as an obligation, but as a transformative act that shapes individual character and strengthens community well-being.

Participants will gain clarity on key concepts, reflect on real-world applications, and develop a more meaningful connection to this essential pillar of Islam.

Event Speaker

Dr. Osman Umarji is the director of Global Data Studies at Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research and a senior consultant to Qatar Foundation. He has a BSc in Electrical Engineering, a master's and PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of California, Irvine, and has studied Islamic Law at Al-Azhar University. Dr. Umarji's research focuses on contemporary issues facing Muslims globally, with an emphasis on Muslim youth development.
